She graduated from the Art History Department of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade in 1995, where she later acquired a doctorate. She also holds a postgraduate degree from the Department of History of Art and Architecture, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA, USA, since 2003.

From 1995 to 2003, she worked as a researcher and later as a teaching assistant at the Department of Art History of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade. Upon her return from the USA, in 2007, she started teaching at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, first as a teaching assistant and then as an associate professor. She is currently teaching at the Faculty of Media and Communications, as an associate professor. In 2010 and 2011, she was a visiting lecturer at the doctoral studies program of the Seminar for Museology and Heritology of Belgrade’s Faculty of Philosophy.
