Some of the most prominent artists in the history of classical and modern art have been sculptors – from Rodin, through Ivan Meštrović, to Henry Moore and Jeff Koons. It is, therefore, clear that sculpture is a highly regarded visual art.
FCA’s Sculpture program focuses on acquiring the knowledge of human anatomy, developing a sophisticated sense of space, mastering the ability to work with different materials and nourishing individual artistic expression.
In addition to the traditional sculpting techniques, modern sculptors utilize modern technology and 3D modeling, which enables them to be productive in various areas. Thanks to their knowledge and skills, besides the art itself, they engage in a number of sought-after, profitable professions – from passion, through designing private and public spaces, to 3D modeling and VR technology development.

Sculpting studies at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts have been designed for talented people who want to express their imagination and creativity in space, utilizing different materials and techniques.
If you are fascinated by the human shape, the analysis of its aspects and positions in space; attracted by either applied sculpting or abstract artistic expression – our Sculting is where you will acquire the knowledge in skills required in order for you to realize your talent in a remarkable way.
At the Faculty of Contemporary Arts you can prepare for the entrance exam free of charge and show your talent in the right way at the entrance exam that awaits. You can approach the teachers directly for consultations – make the most of this option. Do not miss an opportunity to receive practical advice and guidance from renowned artists in their fields.
At the entrance exam, the candidate has 180 minutes to create a charcoal drawing and another 180 minutes for a painting in tempera or acrylic. The topic is still life. The faculty provides the drawing paper and the surface for the painting, whereas the candidates should bring their own drawing and painting materials. Candidates also need to submit a portfolio (“map”) with finished works.
The practical part of the entrance exam is followed by a 15-minute interview with the candidate, which includes an evaluation of the portfolio and the works from the practical exam.

At the Sculpture program, the educational approach is based on practical teaching, where each student’s work is guided through an esteemed professor’s mentorship. In this way, students acquire knowledge and skills that prepare them from unimpeded development, which constitutes the main prerequisite of a successful career. Practical teaching is supported by theoretical knowledge of the history of art and sculpture and lets students become self-aware artists capable of passing their own knowledge to others.

how to analyze the human figure and its position in space;
molding, technological and exhibition process important for creating three-dimensional sculptures;
how to create a sculpture in bronze, wood, stone or metal;
how to utilize modern technologies such as 3D modeling;
how to work on your own or in a team;
to think critically and convey your knowledge to others.
Bringing the ideals of beauty that sculpting strives towards to artistic embodiment and articulation takes specific knowledge and inspiration.
Upin completion of sculpture studies at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, the students are prepared to work in a variety of fields. Thanks to the knowledge, skills and experience from the studies, they embark upon professional careers as artists, or use their mastery of traditional and modern techniques to turn to applied sculpture: public areas, scenography, marketing and creative industries.
