FCA students invite you to the START 2019 exhibition at the Svetozar Marković University Library’s Art Center

The Faculty of Contemporary Arts (FCA) and the Svetozar Marković University Library’s Art Center invite you to attend the opening of the START 2019 exhibition on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, starting from 7 pm, at the Svetozar Marković University Library’s Art Center (71 Bulevar kralja Aleksandra Street).

The exhibition will display the works of undergraduate and MA art students. The works were created in the 2018/19 academic year in the following subjects: Drawing, Painting and Evening Nude. The author of the exhibition is associate professor Ružica Bajić Sinkević.

This is the continuation of the cooperation between FCA and the Svetozar Marković University Library in Belgrade.

Professor Ružica Bajić Sinkević about the exhibition:

The displayed works were created using various techniques – classic studies in pencil and charcoal on paper, pen and ink, ink wash, and combinations of various techniques, while some drawings use atypical drawing materials.
MA students’ drawings become spatial drawings – installations, while the video works are the natural product of sublimating drawings, paintings and installations. Usually the students’ drawings analyze the human body as a whole or search for artistically interesting segments of the body. Sometimes, we only recognize the contours of the body in the expressive visual pieces; abstract compositions, the prints of our thoughts.
We notice that, in their drawings, the students are often interested in analyzing the flora and fauna, and everything that visually surrounds them or excites them on a spiritual level. Stylistically diverse, expressive, sensitive or strong, some of the students are at the very beginning of their studies and starting to form their personal expression, while others have previously exhibited and are well underway on their artistic path; together, they convey an analytical, authentic and fresh approach.
