The offspring of the ancient art of engraving has exploded in modern society, as an area that touches upon all visual arts. This renaissance has been boosted by the development of new printing technologies. If you are creative and like to express traditional artistic techniques in contemporary ways, through modern technologies, new materials and new media, this program is the right choice for you.

FCA’s new program Graphic Art encompasses the mastery of all relevant disciplines – from the most traditional to cutting-edge ones. You will understand the timeless principles that serve as the foundation for this centuries-old art form. At the same time, you will learn how to utilize computer software to create striking, unforgettable images that can be reproduced using printing techniques.

Today, the need for artists who are fluent in the language of graphics is growing. There is hardly a modern way of artistic expression fully devoid of the printing procedure: from highbrow contemporary art, through physical and digital illustration to creating brand identity. This is why those who believe that the future belongs to print are right.

The goal of this program is to create modern artists able to pour their imagination, creativity and inspiration into unique graphics that convey strong, distinctive messages through numerous channels of modern communication.

WHOM IS THE GRAPHIC ART PROGRAM INTENDED FOR?

This program has been designed for anyone who would like to work in visual art which gets reproduced in different media and techniques. This is an old art that can utilize cutting-edge software and print technologies to create a unique contemporary artistic expression. Exciting and modern, the graphic art provides a wide-ranging art education. Above all, it is a highly practical area, without which all sorts of contemporary communication are practically unthinkable.

 

Entrance exam preparation

At the Faculty of Contemporary Arts you can prepare for the entrance exam free of charge and show your talent in the right way at the entrance exam that awaits. You can approach the teachers directly for consultations – make the most of this option. Do not miss an opportunity to receive practical advice and guidance from renowned artists in their fields.

Entrance exam

At the entrance exam, the candidate has 180 minutes to create a charcoal drawing and another 180 minutes for a painting in tempera or acrylic. The faculty provides the drawing paper and the surface for the painting, whereas the candidates should bring their own drawing and painting materials. Candidates also need to submit a portfolio (“map”) with finished works. The practical part of the entrance exam is followed by a 15-minute interview with the candidate, which includes an evaluation of the portfolio and the works from the practical exam.

Duration: 1 day, 360 minutes plus 15-minute interview

Knowledge and experience are gained through practical and theoretical teaching. The theory aspect encompasses lectures that cover visual arts in general. Practical teaching is performed in cooperation with the teachers through creative work in FCA’s own print studios.

Upon completion of studies at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, the students are ready for a career in graphic art. Thanks to this knowledge, you will be competent for artistic expression in different areas. You can present your art through solo and collective exhibitions, and create striking imagery for digital and traditional media, brochures and publications, and thereby charge well for your knowledge and talent.

 

ADDITIONAL SKILL PACKAGES FOR ARTISTS WHO WANT MORE

In addition to working on developing the talent for visual expression through a variety of organized extracurricular activities, the sculpting students can choose additional course packages.

Packages include courses from the Personal Development Program, whose goal is the acquisition of business-oriented skills and 4 additional courses of the student’s own choice.
