The graduation performance “ROZ, VIL, GIL” took place on June 19, at 9 p.m., at the Summer Stage of the “Portal” Theatre, at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts (12 Svetozara Miletića Street, Belgrade).

The cast included students from the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in the class of Beštić/Kovjanić:

  • Aleksandra Obradović (First Actor, Titania, Spirit);
  • Tamara Bardak (Roz, Fairy, Witch, Ophelia);
  • Miona Bojković (Gil, Witch, Fairy);
  • Mihailo Rakočević (Puck);
  • Snežana Erić (First Actor, Fairy, Hecate);
  • Bojana Urošević (Loom, Lady Macbeth, Actress);
  • Anja Milosavljević (Gil, Hermia, Ophelia);
  • David Vefić (Demetar, Alfred);
  • Nikolija Stojković (Witch, Fairy, Actress);
  • Nebojša Pribićević (First Actor, Oberon, Macbeth);
  • Petar Petrović (Lysander, Hamlet);
  • Helena Đurović (Roz, Helena);
  • Ivana Radoman (Titania, Lady Macbeth).

The third year of studies focused on genres and presented students with more specific tasks they had not encountered before, such as reciting verses with strenuous and expressive physical movement, high focus on the inner action of the text, and clear speech.

By combining Shakespeare’s works with Stoppard’s absurdist drama “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead”, we aimed to create a framework that would allow students to express various acting potentials through different Shakespearean works not covered in Stoppard’s original text.

Our Roz and Gil (played by multiple students) represented actors going through the initiation process into the acting profession. The acting troupe leads them through the world of tragedies and comedies, ultimately confronting them with the meaning of acting and theater as a phenomenon.

The adaptation and direction of the performance were done by our celebrated actor, Slobodan Beštić.
