Miomir Petrović graduated at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, at the Department of Dramaturgy (in 1995), in the class of professors Slobodan Selenić and Nenad Prokić with the average grade of 10 (the highest grade). He then obtained his master’s degree at Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade (in 1999) with the thesis paper “Works of Domestic Playwrights on the Stage of Atelier 212 (1967–1987)”. Miomir Petrović obtained his PhD at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies of the Art University in Belgrade (2008) with the thesis paper “Mythological Matrix in Media and Art Texts (cinema, theater, novel, painting)”.

He was the lead dramatist of the Atelier 212 in Belgrade (1996–1999) and the dramatist of the National Theater in Belgrade (2001–2003). At the BK Academy of Arts in Belgrade, he first became an assistant teacher and then assistant professor, teaching the subjects of Dramaturgy and History of World Theater (1998–2006), and he also worked as an associate professor at the Faculty of Culture and Media in Belgrade, teaching the subjects of Creative Writing and Theory of Genres (2008–2015). As full professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts, he teaches the subjects of Aesthetic and History of Performing Arts. Miomir Petrović received the October Award given by the City of Belgrade for his book of plays “The Argos Incident” (1996) and the Laza Kostić award for the novel “House of Salt” (2017). He is also a member of the Serbian Literary Society and Association of Drama Artists of Serbia (from 2000).
