FCA AT THE COORDINATION MEETING OF GIDE GROUP

On October 26 and 27, at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, a meeting of the academic GIDE group was held with the aim of planning further academic cooperation and coordination of future activities among member institutions.

Representing the Faculty of Contemporary Arts at the meeting was Prof. Dr. Dragan Ćalović, the dean and academic coordinator of the FCA group. Among other things, the organization of a collective exhibition of selected student works was agreed upon at the meeting, which will be held in the second half of February 2024 in Funchal, Madeira (Portugal), where the Faculty of Contemporary Arts will show six of the best student design projects.

Additionally, during the same period, a workshop in the field of design will be held, led by professors from member institutions, and where, within international teams, students from member institutions will participate. Attending a workshop dedicated to participatory design will be an excellent opportunity for students of the Faculty of Contemporary Arts to contribute to the development of design projects in international teams. They will collaborate with their peers and prominent professors from abroad, applying new approaches and exchanging ideas and perspectives on current design issues.

A reminder – in April 2023, the Faculty of Contemporary Arts became a full member of this prominent academic group, which gathers prestigious art faculties, including FCA; Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee, UK; Universidade da Madeira, Faculdade de Artes e Humanidades, Funchal, Portugal; Faculty of Design, Ljubljana, Slovenia; Scuola Universitaria Professionale della Svizzera Italiana, Switzerland; Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Mechelen, Belgium; Politecnico di Milano, Milan, Italy; and Universitat Politècnica de València.
